GREENOUGH, SANDRA ELAINE_ GREENOUGH, Sandra Elain September 29, 1957 August 22, 2008 It is with deep sadness and great joy that Sandra's family announces that she went to her heavenly home on Friday, August 22, 2008.
Sandra was predeceased by her husband Mark Greenough in 2004 and her father Eldon Schrader in 2006; grandparents Otto and Mathilda Schrader and Edward and Helene (later Neumann) Kirschbaum. Sandra will be lovingly remembered by her sons John (girlfriend Allison Dewildt) and Michael; mother Dorothea Schrader; sisters Judy (Dave) Gerwing and Sheri (Eldon Persing); partner Tom Chambers; mother-in-law Pauline Greenough; fatherin-law Paul Greenough (Sharon); Mark's siblings Tim (Laurene) Greenough, Rosalyn (Paul) Fatijewski, Anne (Bill) Van Essen, Sally (Ken Wilkinson) OlsenGreenough, Peter (Jane) Greenough and Toby (Jackie) Greenough; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and countless dear friends and colleagues.
As a Human Resource Consultant, Sandra's life passion was strengthening others through the development of individuals, families, organizations, communities and economies. Over the past 25 years, her life's work has been dedicated to the development of others on a local, provincial, national and global scale. Sandra helped people holistically "Discover their Career Passion(....what they Love and Need to do in all areas of their life, the Courage to Live it and a Plan to do it!" Sandra's message of vision, courage, choice and leadership reached audiences across Canada and internationally through her keynote presentations, seminars, personal coaching, articles in the press, publications, television and radio. Sandra was elected President of the Regina Chamber of Commerce in 2000. Sandra was awarded the YWCA of Regina's 2001 Woman of Distinction Award in the Business, Labour & Professional category and the Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan 2001 Existing Member of the Year Award. In addition to other honours, Sandra was nominated in 2007 for Lifetime and Leadership Awards by the Saskatchewan Association of Human Resource Professionals.
Sandra's greatest accomplishment was being a devoted wife and wonderful mother. Sandra had a true passion for life and an incredible strength of spirit and faith, which she always shared to uplift those around her. This spirit sustained her in her journey with terminal cancer. The family would like to thank the medical and support staff at the Pasqua Hospital for their compassionate care of Sandra.
A VISITATION will be held at the Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Monday, August 25 2008 at 7:00 8:30 p.m. Following cremation, A CELEBRATION OF SANDRA'S LIFE will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1909 Ottawa Street, Regina, SK on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Tank of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church officiating. As requested by Sandra, please dress in colours! A PRIVATE FAMILY INTERMENT will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandra's memory may be made to Regina Palliative Care Unit, Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Ave. Regina, SK, S4T1A5 or to a charity of their choice. Family and friends are invited to sign an online book of condolences at www.regina-memorial.ca. This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. |
