We hear more about spiritual passion', yet what does this really mean? Being Spiritual is the connection to the Spirit through relationships with people, sacred objects, rituals, places, and religious content. It concerns the spirit or higher moral qualities, and often thought of with regard to religion. Spirituality is the personal growth of one's true self through spiritual connections.
A Benedictine Monk, Father Tredget notes the word "spirituality" derives from the Latin verb "spirare," to breathe, and the noun "spiritus," a breath, so it involves ideas of energy or a force behind life. He also says, "When you read the world's literature on spirituality, there are some common themes that emerge. That Spirituality involves growth - about becoming a person in the fullest sense. It involves relationships, perhaps a kind of spiritual hospitality towards others. It embraces a person's intellect, emotions and their soul and it animates a person's attitudes, beliefs, behaviour and practices."
The Importance of Spiritual Passion
